Heather Magor gives us an inside look at her duties as a DELVE Senior Consultant
Heather, what do you do at DELVE?
I’m a Senior Consultant at DELVE, helping our Program Management team deliver efficiency and consistent quality to our clients. Our main goals are the retention of our top-tier accounts, and to surface areas of opportunity for exploration at scale. We work as an extension of our client’s team, not just as a vendor, becoming a trusted advisor (who is also very efficient with time management).
What does your daily routine look like?
DELVE is scaling rapidly as a company, which gives me the unique opportunity to balance my time between strategic consulting and building a well-oiled program management machine. DELVE encourages out-of-the-box thinking to provide our clients with custom solutions; however, custom solutions can be a challenge to scale, which means we’re always growing and learning. Parallel pathing internal process improvements, testing them out, gathering departmental feedback—and then repeating the process—makes for an ever-evolving routine.
What is particularly important to you in this job?
The most important things to me in any job are education and growth. I have a constant hunger to learn new things and become bored with tasks I’ve already mastered. DELVE provides a great environment for learning new things every day, and also allows me to mentor some of the more junior PMs. These relationships are a win-win for everyone, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to help others continue to learn and grow.
What types of clients do you work with?
I work with visionary brands that have a passion to innovate, but don’t have the exact knowledge or skill set to get there. I’m fortunate to support a wide array of clients, from non-for-profit organizations like UNICEF to travel companies such as ALG. Most recently, I’ve been partnering with Gerber Life Insurance Company (GLIC) & CarLotz.
I’m very excited to work with GLIC because this account offers a special opportunity to leverage their Data Lake in media campaigns; I can’t wait to see some of the more advanced and sophisticated things we can delve into there. Establishing that kind of full feedback loop—and the ability to utilize data in real time to automate campaign optimizations—will be a fun challenge to figure out. I also look forward to working in-depth with CarLotz; I have several years of auto industry experience, and this is DELVE’s first client in the space, so I can’t wait to help level up their campaigns.
What are you most proud of in your work at DELVE?
I’m most proud of my ability to find solutions that keep us moving forward. For example, the war in Ukraine demanded that we nimbly execute changes—sometimes on an hour by hour basis—as we carefully and strategically navigated the situation for our clients. I’ve learned from DELVE to take a solutions-focused approach to every challenge, which has helped me to develop my leadership skills, earn the team’s trust, and overcome any roadblock.
In your opinion, why is it worth joining DELVE?
If you’re looking to stretch your wings and see what you can really do, DELVE is that place.
Everyone works hard, but the company also encourages you to play hard, offering a wide range of perks from early Fridays and wellness reimbursements, to company summer trips and free ski passes. While my time at DELVE has been entirely remote, I’ve been able to build great working relationships—and have made some incredible friends, too.
