Managing YouTube Across CM360 and Google Ads Is Getting Easier

A new integration between CM360 and Google Ads could eliminate many of the manual steps involved in deploying YouTube creative across the two platforms.

If you manage YouTube campaigns across CM360 and Google Ads, you probably know the workflow.

Upload assets in multiple places. Connect tracking. Recreate ads. Submit support requests. Double-check that everything matches. Then troubleshoot when something inevitably doesn’t. It’s a lot of manual work for something that should be relatively simple.

The problem has been that CM360 and Google Ads haven’t had a direct connection for deploying YouTube creative. Teams working across both platforms have had to fill that gap themselves.

Google’s new YouTube Creative Integration in CM360 is designed to change that. The integration is currently in pilot, with broader commercial availability planned.

One place to manage your YouTube creative

The idea is pretty simple: CM360 becomes the central place to manage the creative, and Google Ads becomes easier to activate from there.

Teams can upload and manage their YouTube video assets in CM360. Those creatives can then be shared directly with Google Ads, where ads are automatically created within the appropriate ad groups.

Instead of uploading the same asset twice and recreating the setup manually, the creative can move from CM360 into Google Ads as part of the workflow.

The integration supports several common YouTube formats, including Efficient Reach, Non-skippable Reach, Video View, and Demand Gen video campaigns.

That may sound like a small operational improvement, but the value goes beyond saving a few steps. Every manual handoff creates another opportunity for something to go wrong.

Tracking can be configured differently. The wrong asset can get uploaded. Settings can vary between platforms. And sometimes those differences don’t become obvious until the campaign is already running and the reporting doesn’t line up.

Reducing those manual steps means fewer opportunities for mistakes and less time spent troubleshooting them later.

It also creates a cleaner source of truth. Creative teams can manage assets in CM360 while media teams activate them in Google Ads without having to maintain two separate versions of the same setup.

For teams already using CM360 and Google Ads together, that could make YouTube campaign deployment significantly easier.

If your YouTube buying happens entirely through DV360, this integration won’t change much. The value is specifically for teams managing creative through CM360 while activating YouTube through Google Ads.

It’s not the flashiest Google product update.

But sometimes the most useful improvements are the ones that eliminate work you shouldn’t have had to do in the first place.

The integration is currently available in pilot through Google Sales.
