Studio now lets teams target Google Affinity and In-Market audiences directly inside Studio, so the creative and the audience rules finally live in the same place.
Personalizing creative by audience isn’t a hard case to make. Someone actively shopping for a new car should probably see a different message than someone with a general interest in travel.
The hard part has never been the idea. It’s been where the setup actually lived.
Until now, targeting different Google audiences meant building rules across individual DV360 line items. The creative lived in Studio. The audience logic lived somewhere else, managed by a different team on a different schedule. More audiences meant more line items to configure, and more chances for the wrong creative to end up in front of the wrong audience.
Google Audience Targeting in Studio closes that gap. It’s fully launched globally as of Q2 2026, and it’s automatically available in every Studio account.
How Google Audience Targeting in Studio works
Studio now lets teams target Google Affinity and In-Market audiences directly, using native audience IDs as part of the same rules that build the creative. It works across both video and display inventory bought through DV360, so there’s one workflow for both.
In practice, the decision about which creative version goes to which audience now happens in the same place the creative gets built, instead of being handed off to DV360 afterward.
What this simplifies
Less line-item clutter. Fewer places for rules to fall out of sync. One source of truth for what each audience should see.
It also pairs naturally with CM360’s Personalized Video feature. One makes it easier to manage many video versions through a single feed. This one lets you tie those versions to Google’s audience signals without rebuilding the audience logic in DV360.
None of this decides what an audience should actually be told. Affinity and In-Market audiences describe interest and intent, but what each audience should hear is still a creative decision. What changes is how much less work it takes to put that decision into practice.
Personalization rules used to live wherever there was room for them. Now they live with the creative.
Google Audience Targeting in Studio is live globally and available automatically in every Studio account.
