From “Not Yet” to Live in Hours: CARE’s Rapid Nepal Flood Response
In short:
When news of the Nepal flooding emerged on August 26, Delve proactively reached out to CARE about activating an emergency fundraising response. CARE initially chose not to move forward, but by the next morning, priorities had changed.
Delve was ready. Within two hours of CARE’s August 27 decision, Paid Search and Meta copy was in the client’s hands. Paid Search was live by early afternoon and Meta by approximately 5 PM. By August 31, just four days after launch, the response had generated approximately $30K in platform-reported revenue at a 5x+ ROAS and nearly 200 new-to-file donors.
The challenge:
| Emergency fundraising doesn’t operate on a campaign calendar. When the Nepal flooding emerged on August 26, Delve recognized the potential fundraising moment and reached out to CARE immediately. At the time, CARE decided not to activate.
By the morning of August 27, that decision changed. The opportunity was there, but the window to respond was narrow. CARE needed to provide creative assets while Delve needed to finalize the dedicated donation experience and develop and launch Paid Search and Meta campaigns quickly enough to reach donors while attention around the emergency was high. The challenge wasn’t simply launching a campaign. It was being ready to move the moment CARE was. |
The approach:
Delve didn’t wait for every piece to be finished before getting started. Once CARE gave the go-ahead on the morning of August 27, the teams worked in parallel.
Within two hours, Delve developed and shared Paid Search and Meta copy while CARE provided creative assets. Paid Search was live by approximately 1–2 PM that afternoon, followed by Meta around 5 PM. What began as a Thursday morning decision became a live, multichannel fundraising response before the end of the business day.
Speed didn’t end at launch. Delve monitored performance closely, shared daily updates with CARE, and scaled investment based on results. The team also increased investment in relevant CARE brand search terms to capture increased search demand surrounding the emergency.
