Dmitry Zelenko, DELVE’s Interim Head of Data Collection, offers his insights about careers, technologies, and clients in our rapidly changing industry.
Dima, please tell us more about your team. What do you do?
The Data Collection department works (most of the time) with Google Marketing Platform products such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, Google Optimize, Google Search Console, and Google Surveys. We run different kinds of audits to help our clients improve their data quality by enriching it, visualizing it, and activating it.
How did you start working at DELVE?
I learned about DELVE through a short conversation with a recruiter on LinkedIn. I thought, “Hey, this is a great opportunity for me and my career!”—and then went on to have four interviews, the final one with our CEO, Greg Sobiech. I know it sounds like a lot, but they wanted to find the “perfect match” position for me—and they did! These days, it usually takes two or three calls with a candidate to know if they’re a good fit for DELVE.
What should a new team member expect?
For every person joining the Data Collection department, we have a clear development plan. There are different courses to take, certifications to pass, and knowledge to acquire before one truly becomes a DELVEr, so we developed a 30/60/90 framework that includes a detailed plan for every step of the onboarding process.
In most cases, upon completion of the 30/60/90 a new team member is ready to work with clients under the manager’s supervision—no matter their knowledge level before joining us. Additionally, we host internal learning sessions where more experienced colleagues share their knowledge about different aspects of our work.
What other skills are you looking for in candidates?
DELVE has many big clients in the US, so fluency in English is a big advantage. The better your language skills are, the better your communication with clients, so DELVE covers English classes for non-native speakers during their first half-year on staff. Plus, every DELVEr is eligible for an upskilling stipend that can be spent on online and/or offline courses for further professional development.
What types of clients do you work with?
We work with companies across a range of different industries: Not For Profit, Travel, IT/Telecom, Real Estate, Retail/Ecommerce, Insurance, and more. Some are smaller businesses, some have thousands of employees, but all are from a range of different countries and different cultures, with different tasks and requests.
In your opinion, why is it worth joining DELVE?
DELVE is a great place to start your career—and it’s also full of opportunities for experienced specialists. No matter where you are on your career path, If you’re looking to join a solid, dynamic team that makes a difference every day, you should consider becoming a DELVEr, too.
